Always made me so sad.
Something terrible. You should turn around and walk away. :P
Twenty - five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
And I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means
And so I cry sometimes
When I’m lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?
Ooh, ooh ooh
And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution
And so I cry sometimes
When I’m lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?
Twenty - five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination

At the moment, this blue haired penis head is my biggest problem with this game. Unlike EVERY character you play as in ANY Golden Sun game, I could give two shits about this guy. This is literally ZERO development for this character. By the way, his name is Rief, and he is the first water adept that joins your party. You meet him after Alex— I MEAN, the Masked Man, kidnaps him and separates YOU from Kraden. Although you have never spoken to him before, you bust him out of a jumping crate, and start talking to him like you’ve been best buds since birth. He immediately joins your party and… that’s it. For the record, the only things he says whilst in your party is stupid advice that he learned from Kraden.
Moving on, the fighting mechanics have been toned down. In the original games, when choosing which character attacks what, some of your characters might be stuck defending if they were chosen to attack an enemy that is slayed before they get a chance to. In Dark Dawn, your character automatically targets the next enemy if this happens. This was a very strategic part of the original games and has been ruined for me.
The world map: an extremely important part of the original games (especially Lost Ages) is SMALL as hell in Dark Dawn. Camelot has redesigned the world map to make a much more linear game which I find disappointing. This leads to much smaller occurrences of random battles and has ruined the games’ original idea of exploration (One of the most enjoyable parts of the original games). While in dungeons, it also seems that there are not many battles that you undertake in, but that could just be me.
Your characters, aside from that…. RIEF, are developed pretty well, but I still have a problem with them. Although each of your characters is approximately 17 years old, they act like children. This mainly applies to Karis and Tyrell. Karis is a nagging bitch while Tyrell is a complete moron. In other words, they are NOTHING like their parents and constantly give away important information to enemies. Seriously, you would expect a group of teens charged with saving the world to be a bit more mature.
Another thing, what’s wrong with the puzzles in this game?! They are so easy it’s not even funny. On top of that, if you’re a serious retard, you eventually get a type of psyenergy that, when used, TELLS YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
These things being said, I actually DO enjoy some of the changes made to the Golden Sun Universe. The redesigned summons, for instance, are very cinematic and I have a lot of trouble skipping them. However, I must ask why in Thor’s summon, his hammer turns into a spark plug and crashes into your enemies… weird. The 3D buildings and environments enhance the experience.
I haven’t finished the game yet, but I am prepared for the disappointing ending. Also, furries.
Just finished Golden Sun: Lost Age (Golden Sun 2). I must say, it was everything I wanted and more. Pissed that I didn’t get extra things on account of not typing in a TWELVE PAGE PASSWORD at start, but still happy I finished. I killed some extra bosses and got Excalibur forged on my first try (Take that Nergal!). I clocked in 39 hours of playtime when the credits rolled. Better then the first in many ways. I had lots of fun. Will probably start playing Dark Dawn tomorrow so I can be INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED.
